Project Recap: Clemson Bonus Room
Scenario
This family consists of Mom, Dad and two little girls. One girl is 10 and the other is 3.
I like to keep my clients confidentia so we'll call her Mom. Mom. originally wanted to tackle two rooms, the bonus room and the playroom. We were just going to start off with the bonus room but honestly the two went hand in hand and they are right next to each other so we decided to knock them both out.
For this post, we're just going to talk about the Bonus Room. I'll post a Part 2 for the playroom. This room was originally suppose to be a man cave for her husband but sure enough her two little girls started taking over and before you know it, it became another playroom.
She wanted to turn this into an older kid hangout but also wanted to keep her husbands Clemson memorabilia. So they needed to share the space.
Thought Process
In this space we wanted to give each family member their own separate area. Since our client's husband loves Clemson football we wanted to give him his own little corner. He can come up to the bonus room, sit in his chair and reminisce about the Tigers. (Go Tigers!)
Their oldest daughter loves crafting but we wanted the crafts to be out of reach for the little one so we decided to turn this wet bar that they don't use very often into her own little crafting station. She now has all the crafts supplies organized in one area, she can grab the tub and bring it into her room or craft at her desk.
Because the younger one will still be in there from time to time we wanted to allow her access to some of her toys, puzzles and games. We didn't want it overflowing with toys so we brought a lot of the toys to the playroom and only kept a few of her favorites. Her mom can now rotate toys in her to keep her interest.
They have a lot of games so if combine all the games and stick them up higher on the shelves, not only are they out of the reach of the little one but they can see exactly what they have.

We reused a lot of the client's organizing products that she already had but here is a short list of what we brought in.
Hyacinth Baskets were used on the shelf.
White plastic bins were used for some crafts supplies in the wet bar area.
Plastic bins with attached lids were perfect for the items we didn't want little hands getting into such as scissors and they are great to stack. These were the clients and she had quite a few of these, these worked out great!
This room turned out great, everyone loved their little spot in the room and for mama, she's just happy it's all neat and organized. Ready for Part 2?
