Meet Susan

How many times have you woken up and opened up your bathroom cabinets only to find yourself super frustrated because you can’t find those dang toenail clippers? Believe it or not, having well-organized bathroom cabinets can significantly impact how you start and end your day.

Keeping your bathroom cabinets tidy can be a challenge. Think about all the things that get stored in your bathroom. You have hair products, extra towels, cleaning supplies, and medicines, and you can’t forget about those extra rolls of toilet paper. Don’t worry, my friend. There is a way to get that bathroom under control and today I want to share a guide with you; how to organize your bathroom cabinets and make your space feel more refreshed.

How to organize bathroom cabinets under the sink

Bathroom cabinets under the sink is probably the most tricky for people. It’s a huge space and items get pushed to the back so it’s hard to really see what you have unless you get down on your knees and look, which nobody likes doing. Luckily, we have some products on the market these days that can help. Here’s how you can tidy up your space under the sink.

Step 1: Take everything out of your cabinets

The first step is to go through all your cabinets. Pull everything out, throw out the items you no longer need and sort these items into groups such as hair products, skincare, toothbrushes and tooth paste, makeup, medicine etc. I’m just going to tell you right now, you don’t need those 5 half-used lotions that have been sitting in your cabinets for years. You just don’t.

Step 2: Strategize zones and products

When you are coming up with a plan to organize your space, ask yourself what you use the most? Put your everyday items up front so they are easily accessible. The items that you don’t use as much can go farther in the back.

Depending on your space and your preference will determine which organizing products you should buy, stackable drawers are a great option for big spaces.

Step 3: Use Vertical Space

Don’t forget to make the most of your vertical space! It’s easy to overlook just how much room you have under your sinks, but often we’re not fully utilizing that potential. Think about all that empty space between the bottom of the cabinet and the top shelf—there’s so much storage opportunity. Installing pull-out organizers is a fantastic way to maximize that vertical space while also giving you quick, easy access to everything you need. No more bending down and reaching into the back of the cabinet. With a simple pull, everything is right there in front of you. It not only helps with organization but keeps things neat, tidy, and easily accessible.

How to organize bathroom medicine cabinets

Medicine cabinets can be found in many different areas of the home. Some people chose to put them in a laundry room or kitchen cabinet while others chose to keep them in their bathroom. In older homes you will find the medicine cabinet behind the mirror and honestly the mirrors have come a long way. You can get a really pretty mirror. If you don’t want to put your mediince in a medicine cabinet, here is

Step 1: Discard expired medications

First you want to go through and check all your medication expirations. Toss the ones that are expired and categorize the other ones into groups such as “allergy”, “children’s”, “cold and flu”, “first aid” etc.

When you think of a medicine cabinet you may think about the old school hidden behind the mirror. This is still an option and those cabinets have come a long way. Now a days, you may not even know it’s behind there. Regardless if you like the old school way or new way mirrors you are going to want to pick a place to store your medicine.

Step 3: Label

The last step in creating a perfectly organized space is labeling each container so you always know exactly what’s inside. This simple step can make a world of difference when it comes to maintaining organization long-term. Whether it’s under the sink, in a pantry, or any storage space, clear labels make finding and returning items to their rightful place quick and easy, saving you time and effort. For custom, stylish labels that add a personal touch, I love using the Cricut Joy. It’s perfect for creating labels that match your space’s aesthetic, and you can really get creative with fonts, colors, and even shapes.

On the other hand, when I need something fast and efficient, the Brother P Touch label maker is my go-to. It’s reliable, easy to use, and great for producing sleek, ready-made labels in no time. Whether you’re going for a fun, customized look or keeping things sleek and simple, labeling is the finishing touch that brings everything together and keeps your space looking at it’s best.

How to organize deep bathroom cabinets

Deeper bathroom cabinets can be really tricky. It’s hard to keep things organized when items end up getting lost in the back or piled on top of each other. You know the feeling—reaching into the cabinet for something and realizing you have to take out half the contents just to get to what you need. With the right organizers, this doesn’t have to be a problem.

Step 1: Declutter

Figure out what is most important to you. Use the back storage for items you don’t have to get to everyday such as toilet paper, paper towels, emergency supplies, fire extinguisher, back stock.

Using pull-out drawers or tiered shelving can help you maximize that deep space, so nothing gets forgotten or buried. Clear bins or baskets can also be a game changer for keeping similar items together, making it easy to see exactly what you have and where it is. With a few simple adjustments, even the deepest cabinets can become functional, organized spaces that work for you, not against you.
